About

What Unscore Me is, who it's for, and why it exists.

What Unscore Me Does

Unscore Me takes a full music score as a PDF and extracts individual instrument parts from it, giving you back separate, clean PDFs - one per instrument. Upload a score, label the instruments in the segment editor, and download your parts. Files are retained based on your plan - from 48 hours for trial accounts to 90 days for Pro subscribers.

Who It's For

  • Ensemble musicians who have a full score but need their own part extracted - whether for rehearsal, performance, or just practice.
  • Conductors and music directors who need to quickly produce parts for their players from a score they already have.
  • Students and educators working with public domain scores for study, teaching, or analysis.
  • Composers and arrangers who want to pull parts from their own scores without re-entering everything into notation software.

The Problem It Solves

If you've ever needed individual parts from a full score, you know what it's like. Maybe you've done the scissors-and-tape routine - literally cutting a photocopy apart and taping strips onto blank pages to make a part. Or maybe you've tried re-entering everything into notation software, which is expensive, slow, and error-prone.

Unscore Me is a straightforward tool that does one thing - splits a score into parts - and tries to do it well.

Copyright & Your Responsibility

Unscore Me is a processing tool. It doesn't host, store, or redistribute music - it processes a PDF you provide and gives you the result. Think of it like a PDF editor or a photocopier: what matters is what you're copying and whether you have the right to do so.

When you upload a score, you select one of four copyright status declarations:

These are your declarations, not ours. Unscore Me does not verify copyright status - it has no way to. Responsibility for using scores lawfully rests with you.

A note on why this matters: composers and arrangers deserve to be compensated for their work. Copyright exists to protect that. At the same time, the public domain is a shared treasure - centuries of music that belongs to all of us. Unscore Me is built to be useful for both cases, but it's on you to know which one applies to the score in your hands.
