Extract Orchestra Parts from a Full Score PDF

Upload a full orchestral score and get individual instrument parts back as separate PDFs - strings, winds, brass, percussion - ready for rehearsal. No notation software needed.

The challenge with orchestral scores

Orchestral scores are dense. A single page can have 20 or more staves, spanning multiple instrument families, with complex groupings - strings divided into sections, woodwinds doubling instruments, brass with divisi, percussion sharing a staff. Manually separating these into individual parts is painstaking work.

Unscore Me automates the detection. The system reads horizontal staff projections across every page, groups staves into instrument rows, and handles cross-page continuity. Piano braces and grand staves are detected and kept together. What you get back is a set of clean part PDFs - one per instrument - that you can hand straight to your players.

How it works

  1. Upload the full score PDF. Any orchestral size - chamber orchestra, symphony, opera - supported. No page limit on paid plans.
  2. Review detections in the segment editor. Each instrument row is highlighted. Drag boundaries to correct errors, label instruments by name (Violin I, Clarinet in Bb, etc.), merge piano grand staves.
  3. Download individual parts. Each instrument gets its own properly formatted PDF. Or download everything as a ZIP.

What the editor handles

  • Scores with 20+ staves per system
  • Multi-page scores with consistent cross-page instrument grouping
  • Piano grand staves (treble + bass brace detection)
  • Instrument-level relabeling (correct detected names, add section markings)
  • Manual boundary adjustment when automatic detection isn't perfect
  • Undo support - up to 50 levels

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with full orchestral scores?
Yes. Unscore Me handles complex orchestral layouts with 20 or more staves per system, including strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
What if the automatic detection misses a staff?
The segment editor lets you drag boundaries to correct detection errors. You can split, merge, or reorder segments, then regenerate the parts.
Can it handle piano grand staves?
Yes. The system detects piano braces and groups treble and bass staves into a single piano part automatically.
What format are the output parts?
Each part is a PDF with the score title, instrument name, and page numbers - ready to print or send to your players. Download individually or as a ZIP.
Do I need the original Sibelius or Finale file?
No. Unscore Me works directly from the PDF. No notation software or source file needed.
